Woodland Spirits Hat Pattern

Nature Spirits are the guardians of Mother Earth. They are believed to exist on a different dimension than humans but can freely travel to our dimension. This usually occurs around Spring or Fall when Nature is in a stage of transition. The large cable is made of lacy leaves vining their way between 2 meandering forest paths and is repeated 4 times around the hat. Embroidery is done once the knitting is complete in a bright green, reminiscent of moss and new Spring growth emerging from the Forest floor. "Black Widow" Fingerless Gloves

My husband wanted "Black Widow" fingerless gloves. I improvised with Nancy Lindberg's "Fits Like A Glove" pattern and then charted out a Black Widow hourglass. "Bandon", a new pattern from Peargirl Knits

Bandon Hat Pattern

Super soft and full of texture, this has become one of my favorite hats to wear. Cables ripple up between sand patterns to the top where a pattern reminiscent of a sand dollar rests on top. 

The Prometheus Tree

Although this pattern was inspired on one snowy day last winter by the very old fir trees that grace our yard, I named it Prometheus to honor The Prometheus Tree with its sculpted and twisted beauty. It was cut down in 1964 and turned out to be close to 5,000 years old, possibly more, bringing attention to the ancient Bristlecone Pines.
Ribbing, Fair Isle with cable twists and twisted stitches give the trees their texture, while the “snowflakes” are added once the hat is complete using duplicate stitch. While not for a beginning knitter, this would be an easy knit for an experienced knitter. You will have enough yarn to knit 4 hats, possibly 5. I’ll be working on the 5th to see. Written for 2 sizes, 20-21" and 22-23", the pattern is available here but also through Ravelry or from The Knit Shop in Eugene, Oregon.

"Solar Flares", a new hat designed for my grandson Soul.

Soul likes motorcycles with flames, so I chose solar flares for a fiery look in this design.

DNA Cowl...a free pattern from Peargirl Knits.

This cowl is reversible, with a cabled DNA strand on one side, and a zigzag moss stitch on the reverse. Each side is knit flat and the ends are grafted together. The two pieces are invisibly stitched together with the Contrast Color extending 1/4” on each edge, so choose a color that contrasts nicely with the Main Color. The beautiful cable is used with permission from June Oshiro and I’ve provided a link to her chart.

Great Grand Sun Hat

Designed for my great-grandson, Damien, this pattern is now available, in 4 sizes for babies, children and adults. Featuring Tahki Cotton Classic yarn, the slipped stitches and small cables keep the knitting interesting and fun. 

Torch Lily

Torch Lily is my new design featuring Malabrigo Rios, a wonderful superwash Merino. A slip stitch pattern is used for the body of the hat, and Fair Isle while shaping the crown, the pattern provides plenty of interest for the knitter as well as beautiful texture. Well written instructions and a colorful chart are included. A special thank you to my friend Lauri for modeling this design. 

Bonny's Braids

I have a very wonderful friend, her name is Bonny. I met her around 13 years ago, shortly after I lost my life-long friend Celia suddenly to a brain aneurysm. Celia and I were 46 and had been friends for 40 years. In an instant, she was gone. I was devastated, so heartbroken ...I literally ached inside, it was life-changing for me. No one can take another's place, but when I met Bonny, and our friendship grew, I realized that as life continues, other wonderful people can come into your life, but you need to open the door. Bonny is a true inspiration, always volunteering her time to family and community, and has encouraged me in my creative endeavors. This past August, she was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. She had surgery and is currently undergoing chemotherapy. My heart is broken again, but I am in hopes that she will be one of a tiny percentage of people that makes it 5+ years. The world, not just my world, would not be the same without Bonny...we need more Bonnys in the world.
This is the hat I designed and knit for her as she began losing her lovely long hair. I searched for something that would be meaningful to her, and chose this celtic braid.

I love Bonny...she is a sweet soul. Wish her well and please send her loving, positive healing energy.

I thought it was time to post this wrap design from spring of this year. It is an easy lace knit, and quick because of the yarn weight. And how can you go wrong with Silk Garden?

Two Rabbit's Pantheon of Bunnies ~

I've finally completed all 6 bunnies, now I'm working hard to get the pattern online. From left to right, Two Rabbit's bunnies are Eggplant Blossom, Black-Eyed Susan, Carrot Top, Daylily, Red Hot Chili Pepper and Bartlett Pear.
