Brioche Knitting is certainly the most intense knitting I have ever learned. I took a 7 hour class from a master, Paula Dockter, and she's from Dexter as well. So here I am, not even halfway done yet, but it is so exciting to be learning something new. It is double sided so each row is knit twice (once with each color) before you turn your work, and if you boo-boo it is definitely an exercise for your brain cells to fix. So here is my progress so far...can you see the leaves?

- I am a self-employed knitter/designer and photographer. I strive to write unique designs inspired by nature, folklore, magic, Fairies and Elves, and I find a lot of inspiration from symbolism and traditions in cultures throughout history. I also love to photograph nature on an intimate level. As a Master Gardener I raise garden starts each spring to sell locally, and I am also a musician in the band Zayante. You can find me on Ravelry as Peargirl and our band Zayante can be found on Soundcloud..

"Black Widow" Fingerless Gloves
My husband wanted "Black Widow" fingerless gloves. I improvised with Nancy Lindberg's "Fits Like A Glove" pattern and then charted out a Black Widow hourglass. I used duplicate-stitch to work the hourglass. Please feel free to use my chart to knit your own. Here is the link to my Ravelry project page, which has a link to Nancy's pattern: Black Widow.
"Bandon", a new pattern from Peargirl Knits
|Bandon Hat Pattern|
Super soft and full of texture, this has become one of my favorite hats to wear. Cables ripple up between sand patterns to the top where a pattern reminiscent of a sand dollar rests on top.
